Point-of-Care needs to be redefined

The concept of point-of-care (POC) is undergoing a dynamic metamorphosis. POC can no longer be seen as a stagnant moment in a healthcare trajectory. POC can no longer be defined as taking place within the traditional 4 walls of the doctor's office or hospital. POC must be defined as a where the patient is. We must recognize that this could be at the doctor's office or hospital, it could be virtually via telemedicine, it could be at a retail clinic, online in a peer-to-peer community, or even at a barbershop (see https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1717250). How could we improve the delivery or healthcare by reimagine the new POC?

Absolutely, Grace. Point of care needs to be defined as anywhere someone is breathing with a heartbeat, irrespective of geographic proximity.
